This October we have a special session for Look Groups and their members. As part of the Ad Minoliti exhibition, we invite you to a Feminist School of Painting Workshop, Queering the Landscape, led by Queer Kernow and artist Elliot Kenton.
The workshop is inspired by artist’s Ithell Colquhoun, Gluck and Marlow Moss, who settled in Lamorna Cove, Cornwall in the 1940’s. These artists challenged the gender norms of the time, and even those that exist today. In the session you will find out more about these alternative perspectives and have a go at creating your own ‘queer’ landscape painting.
The first hour of each session provides time to informally connect with other members and visit the exhibitions. Light refreshments provided.

Step-free access from front and rear entrances. Two accessible parking spaces are available at the top rear entrance to Tate St Ives in the Barnoon Reserved car park, TR26 1JD. Booking essential, at least 24 hours in advance. Once you have parked, you will enter via the Staff Entrance across the level terrace. From here, staff will facilitate your access to the gallery.
Three wheelchairs are available to reserve for free. Bookings should be made at least 24 hours before visiting, please call 01736 791177.
Tate St Ives is located on Porthmeor Beach. There is a ramp up to the gallery entrance alongside stairs with a handrail.
There are lifts to all Levels of the gallery, or alternatively you can take the stairs.
- Accessible and standard toilets are on Level 3, next to Gallery 6.
- A Changing Places toilet is on Level 3, next to Gallery 1.
- Ear defenders can be borrowed from the information desk.
