Action – both individual and collective – is at the heart of the works within Performer and Participant. Sometimes the work takes the form of a proposal for an action or the record of a past event or performance.
Elsewhere viewers are invited to activate an artwork using their bodies. Artworks shown here include a mix of intimate individual acts, choreographed actions in which participants are directed by an artist and political activism.
