Novus and Tate Family Learning Programme Family Ties

Drop into our Clore Studio to explore our Family Ties exhibition produced by learners and their families at seven HMP prisons across the North-West of England and Wales. Led by Novus, who deliver education in prisons, this was an opportunity for the participants and their families to engage in fun and creative art activities that support family connections.

Learners and their families drew inspiration from our Turner Prize 2022 exhibition and worked with local artists Denise Wright and Becky Bryson to create the Family Ties exhibition. Learners also designed activities to share with their families, through family days or postal exchanges, supporting family ties in a dynamic way.

Novus delivers education in over 50 prisons and this exhibition forms part of their national creative strategy that aims to build positive futures and reduce reoffending on release. Here we celebrate the achievements of the learners and their contributing family members.
