Talk and Private View. Lowry: The Bigger Picture

7 October 2013 at 19.30–21.30

Free for Members

Claire Stewart will give an introduction to aspects of Lowry's work not included in the exhibition, such as his extraordinary portraits, seascapes and late works.  It will also look at Lowry's interest as a collector and the artists he admired, including Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Lucian Freud.

Stewart is Curator of The Lowry Collection at The Lowry in Salford, home to the largest public collection and archive of L.S. Lowry’s work.  She has curated exhibitions including A Lowry Summer and Unseen Lowry and is responsible for the permanent displays of L.S. Lowry’s work at The Lowry.

A private view of the exhibition will follow the talk.
